New-Year Peaceful Praying Ceremony, wishing longevity at Dong Cao Pagoda, Thanh Hoa

Dong Cao Pagoda in Thanh Hoa solemnly celebrated the ceremony praying for peace in the morning of Feb. 18th, 2024. In the ceremony, there was a rite to wish a long life to elders, releasing creatures, then offering for the monks.

At 8:30 a.m., the Sangha came to the lecture hall to witness the great ceremony praying for peace and a rite to wish a long life to the elders. After chanting the Buddha name, Mc Lien Hien invited Junior Thich Tam Hoa, Abbot of Hoa Phuc pagoda to teach the Dharma about maintaining faith in the Three Jewels.

The monk helped the listeners express gratitude to the Abbot who builds the Pure Land world right now. Then, the mass received lucky pockets of the Most Master of Hoang Phap pagoda. On behalf of the Sangha, Junior Thich Tam Trong, Abbot of Nhat Phap pagoda, Dong Nai gave gifts as a wish for the elderly. After that, Ms Trinh Thi Hong represented elderly’s descendents with gratitude to the monks and Buddhists organizing this meaningful ceremony.

Before the peaceful praying rite, Junior Thich Tam Hung expressed his gratitude to the Master and co-cultivation monks from all over as well as all Buddhists attending the great ceremony. After that, the mass ate vegetarian rice; next, all of the participants performed the ritual freeing creatures.

The New Year's Peace Praying Ceremony ended in joy for everyone.
