New Year’s Praying Ceremony for Peace at Giai Lam Pagoda - Ha Tinh.

In the morning of February 2nd, 2017 (Lunar January 06th Rooster Year), Buddhists from everywhere came to Giai Lam Pagoda – Tinh Phap, Binh Tien Hamlet, Thach Tan Commune, Thach Ha District, Ha Tinh Province to join The praying ceremony for peace at the beginning of a new year.

Praying for peace is the chance for people to listen to Dharma, chant the Buddhist Sutra, admire the views and offer items to the Triple Gem with the wish of increasing good mind and decreasing evil Karma. And this is also the occasion for Buddhists to contemplate themselves, practice better so that it should bring benefits to themselves and others.

At the opening of the ceremony, Venerable Thich Tam Man offered a Dharma talk on the topic “The purposes of going to pagoda, and the true meaning of praying for peace for the families.” He explained many people think that, the aim of going to pagoda is just to worship and pray to Buddha and Gods for luckfor themselves and their relatives but they do not understand that going to the temple is to find themselves valuable lessons, in which Buddha's teachings can be applied in life.

Besides, the ceremony was attended by Venerable Thich Tam Nguyen, abbot of Tinh Phap Pagoda, honored monks as well as more than 1,000 Buddhists. On the occasion of the beginning of year, the Venerable abbot wished all the Buddhists a New Year of good health, happiness and many blessings!

Before the ceremony ended, the Venerable abbot gave Dharma gifts to all Buddhists and the ceremony  attendees.
