Nurturing a Pure Way of Life during the Three-Month Rains Retreat at Hoang Phap Pagoda | B.E. 2570 - C.E. 2026.

"Sweeping leaves in the ultimate realm,
Every leaf manifests.
Playing hide-and-seek,
Neither coming nor going.
Sweeping leaves in the ultimate realm,
You and I manifest.
Walking toward the sun,
Calling out in harmony."
During the Rains Retreat, the Sangha temporarily set aside the temple affairs to focus on their spiritual practice, restrain their bodies and minds, and cultivate precepts, concentration, and wisdom.
The community's day of practice begins with the morning bell echoing through the silent space. Activities such as chanting, sitting meditation, studying precepts, manual labor, mindful eating, and community living are diligently practiced every day in a spirit of mindfulness and harmony.
The gentle sweeping of the Tich Mon courtyard not only clears away the fallen yellow leaves left by the morning breeze but also reminds each practitioner to sweep away the dust of afflictions within themselves. Every step, word, and action here serves as a lesson in spiritual practice. The simple monastic life of the three-month-Rain Retreat provides fertile ground for monastics and lay practitioners alike to cultivate virtue, strengthen their bonds of brotherhood, and fortify their resolve to serve the Triple Gem. Thus, upon the retreat's conclusion, each practitioner continues to spread the light of the True Dharma far and wide.
