Offering Gifts and Examining Patients in Cambodia

In response to the letter of asking for poor Vietnamese living on Tonle Sap in Kingdom Cambodia from the Association of Vietnamese Cambodians, Venerable Thich Le Dat, abbot of Thien Phuoc Pagoda, Pursat province. On the 7, 8, 9th of Oct. 2016 (lunar the 7, 8, 9th of Sep. Monkey year), the Charity Board of Hoang Phap Pagoda accompanying with the Tu Hue charitable doctors’ group in HCMC, Can Tho, Lam Dong organized a mission of examining patients and offering gifts in Cambodia.
Over more than 400km by car and nearly 2 hours on the boat, on the morning Oct. 8th, 2016 (lunar Sep. 8th), the group arrived to Thien Phuoc Pagoda, at Koh K’et hamlet, Reng Tưl commune, Pursat province for testing health and giving medicine (valued of 120,000 dong/portion) to 360 poor patients, some of them have had illness for long time, but they could not afford to have treatment. The group gave 400 portions (valued of 220,000 dong/ portions) including rice, noodle soup, blankets. Buddhist Tinh Vinh gave 2000 notebooks, 1200 pens, 100 warm coats to the children who are attending to beginning class on floating ferries.
On the evening Oct. 9th,2016 (lunar Seb. 9thMonkey year) the group returned the Hoang Phap Pagoda’s branch at Hamlet 1, Svay Rolum Commune, Sa Ang District, Kandal Province to give 300 portions of gifts (220,000 dong/portion) includingof rice, noodle soup, blankets to the local residents in difficult living.
In this charitable trip, the group released 1080 birds.
The total of charitable money was 225,200,000 dong donated by Dieu Cuc USA, Tinh Trang, the group of Tu Hue charity doctors, Ms Niem, Loc Van, ViKing Company, Ms Ngan, Yến, Bich Tan Binh, My Hoa, Kieu, Nu, Mr. Cao, sister of Ms. Tung, the group of Buddhist Ba Diem, as well as oversea and domestic Buddhists.
