One-Day Peaceful Retreat at Suoi Phap Pagoda

Full of Buddhists everywhere returned to Suoi Phap Pagoda in Tay Ninh province (belonging to the Hoang Phap’s custom) to attend One-day Retreat on Nov. 13th, 2022 (Oct. 20th, LC).

At 8: 00 am, Buddhists gathered in the main hall to practice meditating, and then reciting the Buddha's name.

9:45 am, Junior Thich Tam Huong, Abbot of Suoi Phap Pagoda came to the ashram to share a Dharma talk with the topic of Sowing the seeds of deliverance.

After attaining enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, the Buddha used the Buddha's eyes to contemplate that all sentient beings have the same Buddha-nature and can become Buddhas, but because of ignorance, delusions, and defilements, they drifting in samsara. Therefore, the Buddha with endless compassion turned the wheel of Dharma to save conditioned beings. Considering sentient beings have many different upper and lower faculties, he has come up with many means of teaching corresponding to each person's capacity, such as meditation, mantra, reciting the Buddha's name, etc,. to save sentient beings, who are falling in the birth and death sea.

Every Buddhist diligently meditating, reciting the Buddha's name, worshiping and practicing good deeds every day, we are cultivating the seeds of liberation. Besides, we need to diligently purify our polluted mind to make it pure and peaceful. At the same time, Buddhist learners must also develop the four immeasurable minds that the Buddha taught: kindness, compassion, joy and equanimity; that is the cause that creates peace in the life of cultivation and practice. This is one of the factors that make people and all species love and understand each other better, contributing to the development of the seeds of deliverance.

At 11h am, Buddhists had a rite to offer meals and have lunch.

After the Dharma talk, Buddhists continued to practice and meditate on the Buddha's name.

In the afternoon, it is the practice of chanting and reciting the Buddha's name.
