One-Day Practice

Good men and believing women everywhere gathered at Hoang Phap pagoda to attend One-day Practice on Aug. 24th, 2025.

All Buddhists came to the lecture halls of Dharma-Wheel Building to begin reciting the Buddha name, walking meditation and chanting precepts.

 

In response to the Organizers’ invitation, Senior Thich Quang Thanh, member of Directing Council of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha – Vice of Directing Board cum Head of HCMC Buddhist Educating Board had a dharma talk named “Parents’ Grace”.

 

The Venerable reminded the mass of five profound graces of parents during his Dharma talk:

 

- The grace of giving birth.

 - The grace of nurturing.

 - The grace of educating.

 - The grace of protecting and guarding.

 - The grace of creating conditions for children to grow up.

 

Every child must always respect and honor these five noble graces. Understanding these graces, a person’s true filial piety must begin with inner cultivation. Thus, a pious one must begin with self-improvement, especially Buddhists must know to take care of their parents by its true cultivation. When practicing diligently, a practitioner must do good deeds, benefit himself and others, cultivate merits and dedicate them to the parents, which is the most practical act of filial piety. This is the most complete way to repay the boundless grace of our parents as the lecturer taught.

 

The Dharma talk ended in joy for all attendees.

 

After reciting the Buddha name, Buddhists practiced sitting meditation quietly in the afternoon. Before leaving the temple, Buddhists received dharma book gifts.
