One- day Practice and a requiem ritual at Giai Lam Pagoda - Ha Tinh

On Oct. 01st, 2023 (Aug. 17th, LC) good men and believing women in Tan Lam Huong commune, Thanh Ha districts, Ha Tinh province gathered at Giai Lam Pagoda (belonging to Hoang Phap pagoda's sect) to attend One-day practice and held a requiem ritual for foetus.

The pagoda opened the altar to chant Ksitigarbha sutra on the two-night previous of Aug. 15th-16th, LC.

Devout Buddhists gathered in the main hall to begin the chanting at 8:00 a.m.

In response to the Organizers’ invitation, Senior Thich Tanh Dai, Vice of Director Board of Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh, Abbot of Man Nguyet  temple came to the main hall to preach a Dharma talk to the mass. No father or mother is willing to end their child's life, but they may be forced to give up their beloved child due to impossible circumstances and conditions. From the prayer session for the unborn child, he emphasized four things for parents who have made mistakes:

1. Perform all good deeds to dedicate for the fetus soul with love and heart.

2. Give the soul its full name.

3. When sending fetus' spirits to the temple, that one should return to repent and close to Three Jewels.

4. Must admit mistakes and promise to repent of past mistakes from now on, vowing not to repeat again.

Last, the monk answered the participant's questions.

Continuing the cultivation program, the monks opened the altar to pray for the rebirth of the fetus and release creatures in the afternoon.

The day of practice ended with attendee's joy.
