One-Day Practice (July 19th, 2026) | Hoằng Pháp Pagoda
Update: 24/07/2026
Organized as usual, the One-day Practice on July 19th, 2026, at Hoang Phap Pagoda recorded an attendance of over 3000 male and female Buddhists from everywhere.
All Buddhists came to the lecture halls to begin reciting Buddha names, practicing walking meditation and chanting precepts at 08: 00am. Next was a dharma talk “Who am I?” preached by Nun Thich Nu Chuc Hieu, Abbess of Bo De Monastery in California, USA.
In detail, the nun explained the Twelve Conditions of Cause-and-Effect, a crucial doctrine concerning the twelve Conditions that govern each person's karma. She clearly pointed out that ignorance, attachment, and self-clinging are the root causes of all suffering. Therefore, the nun encouraged Buddhists to diligently practice to eliminate greed, hatred, and delusion daily, reducing attachments in life to gradually unravel these conditions; otherwise, we will inevitably experience dissatisfaction with life when encountering obstacles. Furthermore, the Nun encouraged practitioners to cultivate the Four Right Efforts: diligently preventing evil from arising, diligently eliminating evil that has already arisen, diligently causing good that has not yet arisen to arise, and diligently developing good that has already arisen. The important thing is to master one's own body, speech, mind, and thoughts, as Zen Master Daolin once taught:
Every evil never doing
and in wholesomeness increasing
and one's heart well-purifying:
This is the Buddhas' teaching.
All participants continued their time of chanting Buddha's name, walking meditation and sitting meditation to restrain body - mind amidst the hustle and bustle of life. The One-Day Practice closed successfully in the participants' joy and happiness. Before leaving the temple, Buddhists received book gifts.
