One-Day Retreat | Hoang Phap Pagoda.
Update: 21/10/2026
As usual, the One-Day Practice held on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Hoang Phap Pagoda drew a large number of Buddhists from all over the country.
At 8:00 a.m., after Buddha-name recitation, walking meditation, and precept chanting, attendees listened to a Dharma talk titled "Abandonment" by Ven. Thich Quang An from Tan Binh Buddhist Primary School (HCMC).
Opening with three meaningful stories, the Monk encouraged practitioners to cultivate letting go and realize the true nature of phenomena: impermanence, suffering, and non-self. He highlighted that human life mostly revolves around likes and dislikes. Due to ignorance—failing to see the true nature of things—we develop attachments and cling to them. From this, concepts of happiness and suffering are formed, quietly governing each person's life.
Thus, Buddhists should deepen their faith in the Triple Gem, study the Dharma for right understanding, and practice letting go for inner peace.
The afternoon session was cultivated at 2:00 p.m. with further recitation and meditation. The retreat concluded smoothly, leaving everyone with serenity and joy.
