One – Day Retreat and the charity on the 1st day of lunar month at Dong Cao Pagoda

On June 16th, 2023 (May. 1st, LC), Buddhists everywhere returned to Dong Cao pagoda in Thanh Hoa province (belonging to Hoang Phap Pagoda’s custom) to attend One–Day Practice, and the charity on the 1st day of the lunar month.

After Buddhist gathering in the lecture hall and stabilizing the ashram in the morning, Junior Thich Tam Hung - Abbot of Dong Cao Pagoda led the mass to recite the Ksitigarbha Sutra.

Finishing the chanting, Junior Thich Tam Hung and the mass vowed together, and held a rite setting free into Hung Long River; then, returned to the temple, and chanted the Eightfold Path of sutra.

In order to connect a firm relationship and encourage people to be vegetarian, the temple gave fruits to the Buddhists present.

After that, the mass prepared nearly 250 vegetarian meals to give to patients’ relatives being treated at Nga Son General Hospital on the 1st and 15th day of the lunar month.

Next, the mass had lunch in mindfulness.

Last, all attendees made preparations for the 7th Summer Youth Retreat (ages 14-22) in 2023 (duration: June 19-23, 2023).
