One - Day Retreat at Dong Cao pagoda

On May 02nd, 2021 (March 21st, Year of Buffalo) Dong Cao pagoda (Nga Son district, Thanh Hoa province) solemnly held One-day Retreat to good men and believing women everywhere.

Beginning, the Abbot of Dong Cao pagoda instructed Buddhists meditative walking. Next, the mass chanted the ritual of six-sense organ repentance, reminded five precepts, performing the rite freeing creatures.

After Buddhist Lien Hong, Deputy of the mass read the pagoda’s rules and showed singing activities to the mass. At 9:15 am, accepting the invitation of the organizers, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Tuy, one of monks at Long Son pagoda came to the lecture hall to preach to all participants a lecture named What Causes and Conditions Brings Us To This Realm.

After nearly two hours with concise and brief language and his own practice experience, Ven. has truly pointed out "Karma" has brought sentient beings to this realm. Thanks to that, the Venerable helped the listeners to have more personal conception to be firm on the path of practice to Buddhist tenet. 

In the afternoon, the Abbot instructed the mass to sit meditation which feels happiness in the present moment and recite the sutra of Sigalovada. At 14h30, Buddhist Dieu Thang instructed the mass to the Buddha’s name.

At the end of the retreat, it’s the moment for all participants to sit down to share their cultivation experiences together and receive dharma gifts.
