One-Day Retreat at Dong Cao pagoda

On Sunday, April 24th, 2022 (March 24th, LC), Dong Cao Pagoda in Thanh Hoa organized the One-Day Retreat for Buddhists everywhere to attend. At the beginning, Junior Thich Tam Hung - Abbot of Dong Cao Pagoda has guided practitioners to meditate and watch the sun and be awake in the present moment. After that, the mass began the six-sense repentance and reviewed Three Refuges and Five Precepts as well as freeing creatures to spread love.
Buddhist Tinh Hung, head of the mass, read the rules of the practice. At 9:30 am, accepting the invitation of Organizers and the Abbot, Junior Thich Minh Tong - Monks of Dong Dac pagoda in Ninh Binh province, gave a lecture with the title "Superstition and Belief". After over an hour with brief language and his own practice, the Venerable clearly pointed out the true meaning of "Superstitions and Beliefs". By this meaning, the Venerable helped the mass to have more knowledge to be stable on the path of study Buddhism and overcome Superstition and Belief to follow the right path that the Buddha and the patriarchs showed. The talk ended in everyone's happiness. Next, all the practitioners had lunch in mindfulness.
At exactly 13:30 p.m, after a relaxing lunch break, the Abbot guided the participants to sit in silence to find themselves happy in the present and read the Eightfold Path sutta.
At 14:15 p.m, Buddhist Dieu Nhat guided the mass to recite the Buddha's name and to walk in meditation. After One-day study, Yen Phap (Dong Cao) Temple in Thanh Hoa organized an award ceremony for Buddhist families who won prizes in the program "Greeting Vesak Day, Welcome to The Birth of the Buddha'' in 2021. On behalf of organizers, Junior Thich Tam Hung spoke about the meaning and purpose of the program. Because of the complicated development of the pandemic, it took nearly a year for the Organizing Committee to award the prize.
The Ven encouraged Buddhists to try to do something meaningful to offer to the Buddha on occasion of the upcoming 2022 Vesak season...The Ven gave gifts to the prize winning families.
First prize: Buddhist Mai Van Nghi (Minh Nhat) received certificate of merit, Guan Yin statue, envelope (500,000), gift of Dharma.
Second: Buddhist director Nguyen Tai Hung (Tinh Hung) received a certificate of merit, Birth statue, envelope (300,000 VND) and gift of Dharma.

- Buddhist family Nguyen Trung Anh (Tri Tinh Van)
- Buddhist family Thinh Van Dung (Tinh Dung)
received Certificate of Merit, Statue of Birth, Envelope (200,000 VND) and gift of Dharma.
On this day of practice, the Venerable gave each Buddhist one Buddhist flag on occasion of the upcoming 2022 Buddha's Birthday and a gift of Dharma.
