One - Day Retreat at Dong Cao pagoda

Despite the harsh local weather, with the spirit of eagerness to learn, Buddhists everywhere returned to Dong Cao pagoda in Thanh Hoa (belonging to Hoang Phap pagoda) to attend One-day Retreat on July 24th, 2022.

First, the Abbot of Dong Cao pagoda instructed the mass to chant the ritual of six-sense repentance, remind five precepts, and perform the rite freeing creatures. After Buddhist Lien Thanh, Head of the temple's volunteers read the retreat rules.

In response to the invitation the Organizers, at 9:30 am., Nun Thich Nu Thanh Thuy, Abbot of Kim Thanh pagoda came to the main hall and had a Dharma talk named "The Teachings of the Buddha in the Unanda Sutta to Layman Bāhiya"

"In the seeing is only seeing". After more than an hour with easy-to-understand language and her own experience, the nun clearly pointed out the true view is the Noble Eightfold Path to achieve precept, concentration, and wisdom. She helped the audience to have stable awareness on the path of studying Buddhism to correct themselves, overcome desires of five senses to follow the right path the Buddha and the Patriarchs have taught.

In this retreat, the mass practice made four essential offerings to monks at the temple on occasion of Summer Retreat 2022, led by Lien Hong Buddhists.

In the afternoon, the Abbot guided the participants to sit in silence, feel happiness in the present and read Noble Eightfold Path Sutra.

At exactly 14:15, Buddhists Dieu Nhat and Dieu Thang guided the mass to recite the Buddha's name and to walk meditation. After the one-day practice, the practitioners gathered together to share peaceful energy and experience on the day of cultivation.

On the day of practice, a number of Buddhists volunteered for charity doing, helping to clean up the temple grounds after the summer retreat 2022 and Playground of Kids took place.

Before leaving, the monks gave gifts of Dharma to Buddhists.
