One - Day Retreat at Dong Cao pagoda

On Aug. 21st, 2022 (July 24th, LC), Dong Cao Pagoda continued to organize the One-day Retreat for Buddhists everywhere to attend.

First, the Abbot of Dong Cao pagoda instructed the mass to chant the ritual of six-sense repentance, remind five precepts, and perform the rite freeing creatures.

After that, Buddhist Lien Thanh, Vice of group’s members read the rules of practice for the participants to know and practice.

In response to the invitation the Organizers, at 9:30 am., Junior Thich Tam Luan, Abbot of Bao Quang Pagoda (Dong Nai), belonging to Hoang Phap pagoda, arrived at the Hoa Sen Lecture Hall to preach a dharma talk named "The basics of practice".

Over one hour of preaching, with easy-to -understand language and his own practice experience, Venerable pointed out the true nature of spiritual practice. That is "Modifying the three karma, renewing oneself, advancing on the path to deliverance". He helped the audience to have stable awareness on the path of studying Buddhism to correct themselves, overcome desires of five senses to follow the right path the Buddha and the Patriarchs have taught.

  In this retreat, the mass practice made four essential offerings to monks at the temple on occasion of Ullambana Festival 2022 led by Buddhist Lien Ha.

 In the afternoon, the Abbot guided the participants to sit in silence, feel happiness in the present and read Sigalovada Sutta (Sutta on human morality), as well as the Buddha reciting in walking meditation. Then, the practitioners gathered together to share peaceful energy and experience on the day of cultivation.

 Before leaving, the monks gave gifts of books to Buddhists.

In addition, Buddhists volunteered for support, helping to clean up the temple grounds after the rainy days.
