One-Day Retreat at Minh Chat ashram in Can Tho

Monks, Junior Thich Tam Hue, and devout Buddhists of Hoang Phap pagoda returned to the Minh Chat ashram in Can Tho province to attend the One-Day Retreat on Aug. 03rd, 2025.
Attending the practice were the presence of monks, Buddhists at Minh Chat ashram in Can Tho and Buddhists at Hoang Phap pagoda, Hanh Trinh Thien Duyen group.
After breakfast, the monks guided Buddhists in the demeanor to clasp their hands, prostrate; how to walk, recite Buddha's name and raise a bow offering lunch to the Buddha altar.
Then, the mass recited the Buddha's name, and chanted the precepts.
In response to the organizers’ invitation, Senior Thich Tri Hue - Standing Member of Central Dharma Propagation Board, Chief Secretary of the Central Charity Board, Abbot of Phap Tang Pagoda - Binh Chanh, HCMC had a dharma talk "Chanting the Buddha's names will help eliminate karma, achieve purity, and be reborn in the Pure Land."
He emphasized the meaning of reciting Buddha's name, which helps eliminate karma from the pure mind when the mind relies on reciting His names. This helps to dissolve old karma and prevent the creation of new karma. In addition, reciting Buddha's name is also a way to accumulate merit and sow the causes and conditions for rebirth in the Pure Land.
The practice day included a walking meditation, reciting Buddha's name. The monks gave support to 40 Buddhists and young students in difficult circumstances at this occasion.
Last, all attendees went to release fish at the Co Bac ferry on Hau River. The mass chanted sutras, recited Buddha's name, took refuge in Three Jewels and released all of them to nature.
