One-day Retreat at Tieu Dao pagoda – Quang Ninh Province

In the morning of December 18th, 2017 (Lunar November 1st, Rooster Year), the One-day Retreat was held at Tieu Dao Pagoda, Ha Khau Ward, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province.

At 8.30am, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Tinh – the Committee of Buddhist Director Board in Vietnam in Quang Ninh â€“ the main secretary of  Buddhist  Director Board in Vietnam in Ha Long City – the Abbot of Tieu Dao had Dharma talk on the theme of “Trust in the Buddha”.

In our life, everyone always has a belief in the Buddha, especially Buddhists. Nevertheless, it should be in right Dharma such as this belief must have right views, wisdom, help for  life and religion. On the contrary, there are some people including Buddhists, visiting the Pagoda but their belief is opposite to the Buddha’s teaching. They consider Buddha as a God, who blesses or offers calamitous to everyone; thus they often pray for everything, or some people have a happy family before visiting the Pagoda but after that, they neglect their household chores, they no longer care for their family, and society. They only think about themselves, neglect for life and Buddhism, which is wrong views. This belief is not appropriate to the Buddha’s teachings.

 Ending the Dharma talk, the Junior Ven. hoped that each Buddhist, especially, when going to Pagoda to practice they should follow on good monks’ and friends’ advice so as not to fall in superstition that may lead to sufferings.

After the lecture, Buddhists started the repentant course “Reciting the Buddhas’ name”.
