One-day Retreat in Can Tho

Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue, Monks and Buddhists at Hoang Phap Pagoda arrived Minh Chat retreat in Ninh Kieu, Can Tho to organize the 8th one-day retreat of reciting Buddha's name. Especially, this time had appearance of Junior Ven. Thich Chanh Thanh and 20 Buddhists at Quoc Thoi Pagoda came to attend on Dec. 15th, 2019 (lunar Nov. 20th, 2019).

The Monks taught rules of the Buddha disciples in prostrating, greeting, how to offer a meal, and reciting the Buddha's name in meditation walking. Then, the mass entered the period of cultivation.

 After that, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Khiet, a monk of Hoang Phap Pagoda preached a dharma talk with theme “The meaning of Brahma - net sutra”, the rite of chanting the Bodhisattva precepts. By this way, he explained these precepts as a light shining on the night, so, Buddhists must diligently preserve these rules to be soon enlightenment.

On this occasion, monks answered questions surrounding the cultivation. What we learn is to transfer the three karma of actions, speech, and thoughts becoming the pure, understand the dangers of craving, hatred, and ignorance accompany with how to change them, but these actions do not lose our own peace and the people around.

After that, the mass performed the rite of food offering to lone souls.

At the end of the monk's day, the monk gave Buddhists dharma gifts, including the books as, "Retribution for killing creatures", “Brief Introductions of Hoang Phap Monastery”,“Muddy pond”, “Lesson for Kids”

The day of cultivation ended in the joy of the mass.
