One-day Retreat in Can Tho

In the morning, monks and Buddhists chanted the Surangama mantra, practice to recite the Buddha's name. After that, the mass began reciting Buddha's name, walking meditation and chanting the precepts.
Next, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue has a dharma talk with the topic of Happiness non attachment. It means the mind does not desire and always feels adequate. Non attachments is like a person carrying a burden on his shoulder, now is lightly placed down. Detachment does not mean giving up all possessions, but renouncing desires, anger in the mind and then quitting to possessions outside. Practicing abandon to the end, when the death comes, we will accept to quit this old and weak body, our mind happily leaves out the suffering of the ill body.
Practitioners are looking for true happiness, and it is possible when the mind is no longer attached to craving everything in the world. Thus, true happiness is the renunciation, so we must practice detachment. Look at ourselves to see if we still attach, cling or hate something? In fact, some people can let go of their wives and children, but they stick to the temples, give up all their possessions but still stick to fame and status. Getting rid of one but sticking to another ... it isn't really liberated.
Next, the participants entered the time of reciting Buddha's name and sitting silence. Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue instructed Buddhists how to use bells, wooden bells, and little bells in a regular and rhythmic manner.
Accordingly, on 11/15/2020, the monk gave 50 gifts (100,000 VND/ portion) to patients being treated at Cancer Hospital. The total amount for charity is 5,000,000 VND.
