One - Day Retreat toward to The Buddha Birthday at Dong Cao pagoda in Thanh Hoa

On May 19th, 2023 (April 01st, LC), Dong Cao Pagoda in Thanh Hoa province (belonging to the Hoang Phap’s custom) organized One-Day Retreat for Buddhists everywhere to sow blessings.

First, Junior Thich Tam Hung, Abbot of Dong Cao Pagoda instructed the mass to chant Ksitigarbha sutra and reviewed the Buddha's life. Having enough good conditions for people to know Buddhism in the Buddha's birthday season, besides freeing creatures, the temple gave fruits to Buddhists who come to the temple on the lunar month's first day, which encourages followers how to be vegetarian, and have good connections. 

Next, the mass and performed the rite freeing creatures at the campus temple, chanted the Eightfold Path of sutra at Ngo Chan Tu main hall under the guidance of Buddhist Lien Ha. Then, the temple prepared over 350 vegetarian meals to give to patients being treated at Nga Son General Hospital. At lunchtime, the mass came back to the temple, and had lunch in mindfulness.

The mass chanted together the Lotus sutra and recited the Buddha names in the afternoon.

After the chanting session in the evening, the temple celebrated the general birthday for Buddhists with a birthday in May. Junior Thich Tam Hung gave gifts and congratulations, and encouraged the listeners to keep their faith in the Three Jewels and spread the Dharma with the monks.
