One–Day Retreat at Tieu Dao Pagoda

October 17th, 2020 (on September 1st, Year of Mouse), Junior Thich Tam Tinh, the abbot of Tieu Dao Pagoda gave a lecture in a one-day retreat titled " Toward the People of Central Vietnam".

Junior Ven. generalized the damage caused by natural disasters in recent time. The flood in the Central region of 2020 known as the flood of history, started from the night of Oct. 6th, the morning of Oct. 7th, 2020 in the provinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien - Hue of the North Central Coast, a part of the South Central Coast includes Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen. Heavy rainfall poured on many areas, causing many localities in the central to be flooded on a large scale in many places, flood waters rose, separating many areas.

The media announced that on Oct. 12th, 40 people died and were missing due to floods. Previously, 28 people died, 12 were missing. According to the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, the provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, and Quang Nam have submitted a proposal for urgent support of essential items and food for rescue and help.

This situation, the monk called on Buddhists should share the most practical action: each person dedicates some of money or material depending on their ability to contribute to the people of Central Vietnam.

Flood in Central 2020 is considered a historic flood. Therefore, Junior Ven. and all Buddhists have raised 20,000,000 VND. This amount will be transferred to the central region in the fastest time.

At the end of the lecture, the mass started the repentant ceremony.
