Opening of the 109th Seven-Day Practice.
Update: 02/09/2026
The 109th "Seven-Day Retreat" at Hoang Phap Pagoda commenced amidst the joyful atmosphere of National Day on September 2nd. A crowd of Buddhists from all over gathered at the pagoda to practice in peace and serenity, officially entering the retreat's schedule.
The monks guided practitioners on the rules and demeanor during the retreat, including hand-clasping, greeting, bowing, and meal-offering rituals at lunch.
In the afternoon, the Abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda, Junior Thich Tam Truong, delivered a Dharma talk entitled "Internal Regulations" to all attendees. He reiterated the Twelve Vows of Buddha Recitation to help participants understand their profound meaning and apply them to their daily practice. Through mindfulness, cultivating loving-kindness, and contemplating cause-and-effect as well as dependent origination, practitioners can clearly distinguish between wholesome and unwholesome deeds, minimize attachment to external circumstances, and find inner peace.
