Opening the 85th Seven-Day Retreat

Today April 16, 2017, Hoang Phap pagoda officially opens the 85th Seven-Day Retreat (lasting until April 23, 2017) with the attendance of more than 1,500 Buddhists from regions in the country.

In the morning of the opening day, all the practitioners have got the orientation session guiding about facilities and regulations in the retreat as lecturing halls, dining area, accommodation, as well as rules and etiquette for participants(Ex: how to press palm together, bow, kowtow, and conduct praying rite before lunch…).

At 14h in the afternoon, Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh, abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda, head of organizing committee, offers the Dharma talk to the mass.

In order to have harmonization, strength and development, it is necessary for the organization to have both talented/ virtuous leader and good/enthusiastic followers.

After his Enlightenment, Buddha started turning the Dharma wheel, saving sentient beings, admitting disciples and forming Triratna. Growing Sangha requires the skills of organization and management. In preaching Dharma and building up/ growing Sangha, besides the prominent leading of Buddha, his great disciples as Moggallana, Sariputta ....effectively supported Buddha in daily matters and lay Buddhists also had important contribution, too.

Today, with the desire growing and developing Buddhism, members of Hoang Phap sangha always concern and think of how to make Buddhism activities and Retreat courses more helpful and practical to benefit Dharma and sentient beings. During this course, to avoid boring format, the organizing committee applies many improvements to develop the quality of the retreats and encourage the diligence of practitioners in practicing and studying.

To sum up, the Senior Venerable sends his regards to the mass, wishing them all the best during the retreat and reaping marvelous results.

After that, the mass officially enters the 85th Seven-Day Retreat.
