Most Venerable Thich Duc Chon, Abbot of Quang Huong Gia Lam monastery, died on Nov 27, 2017, at his age of 86 in secular world and 62 in Sangha
 

Paying the last Tribute to Late Most Venerable Thich Duc Chon

 

The late Most Venerable, also called Nguyen My, Hai Tanh, is the disciple of late Master Thich Tri Thu, the First Head of Management Board of Vietnamese Buddhist Congregation. Master Thich Duc Chon has always been the bright example for Buddhists to follow. He was seriously in personal living and practicing while tolerant, kind and gentle to others. He was never arrogant or haughty in dealing with everyone. For him, practicing for liberation and preaching to save being are foremost duties in life.

His body was laid in the coffin at 19: Nov 27, 2017 at Quang Huong Gia Lam monastery. Visiting time was from Nov 28 to Dec 02, 2017. At 08:00 Dec 03, 2017 (Oct 16, lunar calendar), his body would be moved to Phuc An Vien incinerator (Dist. 09, HCMC) for cremation.
