Peace praying ceremony at Hoang Phap Cambodia Temple in the new year

After offering incense, the monks and Buddhists solemnly read and chanted sutras to pray for peace, praying for world peace and happy living beings. After that, Junior Abbot Thich Tam Truc had a dharma talk at the beginning of new year to the mass.

There are no "bad stars" or "good stars" in Buddhist teachings. People think that the age years of the stars of Rahu, Ketu, Venus... are bad stars, which the mind is insecure, then, wisdom does not arise. Thus, everyone wishes to have a lot of health, peace, happiness, no disease, less risk in the new year.

In order to be fulfilled for our wishes, we need to think and practice the Buddha's teaching:

- Let's bring peace to everyone, then there will be peace to us.

- Let's bring happiness to others, then there will be happiness with us.

- Let's share material things with people in need, we will be full to us.

The practical and beneficial way to pray for peace is not to think for our own benefit. When we know how to be selfless, speak and do good deeds, be rich in kindness, and help others, our life will be peaceful and joy will come. Understanding and practicing the Buddha's teachings, actively sowing good causes in accordance with cause and effect, karma, not doing bad things so that a new year will reap many sweet fruits, successful and good things will come.
