Practice and charity on the full moon day at Dong Cao Pagoda, Thanh Hoa

On Aug. 01st, 2023 (June 15th, LC), Dong Cao Pagoda in Thanh Hoa province (belonging to the Hoang Phap’s custom) continued to organize One-Day Practice for Buddhists everywhere to attend and have charity activities.

After the chanting Ksitigarbha, Junior Thich Tam Hung instructed Buddhists going to Nga Son district market to buy fish which would release them into the Hung Long River. This means to show loving to sentient beings, praying for the alive person to be at peace. The temple's practitioners have bought fresh fruits to sow good conditions for small sellers at the market… Next, the mass returned to the temple, and chanted the Eightfold Path of sutra. The mass prepared nearly 400 vegetarian meals to give to patients being treated at Nga Son General on the full moon day

In the afternoon, Buddhist Dieu Thang led the mass to chant the sutra named The good person.

Towards the anniversary of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva's enlightenment (June 19th of the lunar calendar) in the evening of the same day, Junior Thich Tam Hung went to Ngo Chan Tu's lecture hall to lead of chanting mantras, doctrine, prostrating and praising the virtue of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, etc, then reciting the Buddha's name. He taught the Buddhadharma to help the listeners better understand mindfulness and firmly believe in the Three Jewels. After that, the monk had announcement to the mass: the temple will hold prostrations, chanting and reciting the Buddha's name, reviewing the merits of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara from June 15th to 19th, LC at 19:30 p.m; One-day Retreat on Sunday, June 20th, LC.
