Pratimoksa commandment rite and precept listen of monks of Hoang Phap pagoda

On June 10th, 2021 (May 1st, LC), monks at Hoang Phap Pagoda solemnly held a rite to periodically recite the precepts.

During the rain-retreat, the monks will declare 2 times of Buddhist prohibitions in each lunar month. This tradition is a specific activity of the Sangha that has been carried out since the time of Buddha through many generations. The main purpose of commandments every fortnight is to keep on Sangha's life in the spirit of harmony and purity.

The ceremony was attended by Senior Thich Chan Tinh, abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda and Sangha in the pagoda.

Firstly, Junior Thich Tam Vuong offered incense to the Buddha and then performed Buddhist traditional ritual.

The next part is the declaration of Buddhist laws. This is an opportunity for the monks to remind each other about the rules of practitioners to nurture good deeds and practice precepts, as well as increase cultivators' belief.
