Preaching dharma at Co Am pagoda, Tu Phap pagoda, and Phuc Hai pagoda in the tenth day of propagation trip in the Northern

After welcoming the Most and the monks to Co Am Pagoda on the evening of February 4th, 2023, Junior Thich Tam Thanh, Sangha and Buddhists respectfully bowed and wished the Venerable Master a long life. Then, the Master had a few words of praise and encouragement to the monks in their practice.

On the morning of Feb. 05th, 2023 Most Ven Thich Chan Tinh had a Dharma lecture at Co Am pagoda in Dien Chau, Nghe An province.

Humans always want and need property for themselves to help themselves, their families and society. In addition to material things, Buddhist practitioners need spiritual assets because spiritual assets will produce material assets. The Buddha taught, there are seven spiritual possessions that will follow us forever, never lose, no one can rob, that is: Faith, precepts, shame with own-self, shyness with others, listening a lot, giving and wisdom.

Faith: thanks to faith, merit will be born (believe in Buddha - Dharma - Sangha, believe in cause and effect); Precepts: keep the rules that accomplish good things, prevent wrongdoings and sins, help pure body-speech-mind; shyness of ownself for wrong things that one had done. By shame, one does not repeat evil deeds; shyness with others means the worry of retribution but dare not do wrong; Listening: by listening to the Dharma, study the Dharma to have correct understanding. When having the right understanding, we will have the right words and actions; Almsgiving is to use our property to help people in need. When we don't have property, we can also give spiritual gifts, encourage people to go to temples, study Buddhism, help people to become good; Wisdom is insight. Through wisdom, we realize the truth of life so that we can practice, transform our body and mind, and have peace of mind.

Through this, the Master wished that the mass would try to practice these seven kinds of wealth in life to gain merits and blessings that will never be lost, enjoyed in this life and in the next, until Buddhahood is achieved.

After the Dharma session, the Most Ven and the monks continued their propagation journey.

Next, Most Thich Chan Tinh had a Dharma lecture at Tu Phap Pagoda (belonging to Hoang Phap's pagoda sect) in Dien Hong, Dien Chau, Nghe An province in the afternoon.

Before the Dharma hearing, Junior Thich Tam Due and all Buddhists in the ashram solemnly bowed and wished the Venerable Master a long life.

Buddhists often go to the temple to worship Buddha and pray for their family to have a peaceful, healthy and happy new year, which is a legitimate wish in early spring.

Thus, let us strive to perform practical things so that prayers can be accomplished. The Master taught:

- To have health, we must eat and drink in moderation, not killing.

- A family to be in harmony and happiness, each person should listen, sympathize, understand, forgive, love, and observe five precepts: not to kill creatures, steal, commit adultery, lie and drink alcohol. Lucky or unlucky is karma for each person, not because of the date, time, age or any god's blessing, or disaster.

To be rich, one must know how to sow wisdom, give alms, and work diligently.

The Most Ven reminded the mass that going to the temple to pray for good things for themselves and their loved ones is a legitimate wish, but prayers must have practice together to bring results, not superstition. At the same time, Buddhists should use money reasonably, bringing benefits to themselves, their families and society to have a happy life in this life and the next.

Next, Most Thich Chan Tinh had a Dharma lecture at Phuc Hai Pagoda (belonging to Hoang Phap's pagoda sect) in Dan Truong, Nghi Xuan, Ha Tinh province in the evening.

Before the Dharma hearing, Venerable Thich Tam Quyen and all Buddhists in the ashram solemnly bowed and wished the Venerable Master a long life.

Having conditions to come to the ashram, the Master was extremely happy and touched when he learned about the temple’s history, and the Buddhists' thirst for Buddha's teachings. The Master praised for belief, strength, as well as Buddhist and world learning knowledge, along with Junior Thich Tam Quyen's commitment to serve the religion. In addition, the protection of the Three Jewels of Buddhists and local authorities has helped Phuc Hai Pagoda to be maintained after more than hundreds of years.

By the way, the Most Ven has some encouragement to Buddhists in support of Dharma, helping to lead Buddha's teachings to all sentient beings. This will have peace for themselves and others in this life and in future lives.
