Prostrating five hundred names Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara at Truong Phap Pagoda, Hau Giang

To respect and remember the enlightenment of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, Aug. 5th, 2023 (June 19th, LC), Truong Phap pagoda in Truong Long A commune, Chau Thanh A district, Hau Giang province (belonging to Hoang Phap pagoda’s sect) held a penitential ritual Her Five hundred Titles, over 100 devout Buddhists attended.

After stabilizing the ashram in the main hall, the mass began the penitential ritual. After that, all practitioners lit candles in gratitude for the merits of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara. In order for the rite to be fully meaningful, Junior Thich Tam Y had a few words to share, encouraging Buddhists to follow the Bodhisattva’s example and practice compassion, wisdom, listening, and being patient…in everyday life.

The ritual ended in the joy of the mass.
