Repentance Ceremony in last of Sep. Horse Year.

Before this chanting course, Junior Venerable Thich\r\nTam Dai gave a dharma talk to Buddhists. In his preaching, he shared\r\nthe theme of “Lets give up cigarette†the mass.
\r\n\r\nAccording to the statistical figures, Viet Nam is\r\none of 15 countries with the highest rate of smokers in the world.There\r\nare many reasons that cause them to take up cigarettes such\r\nas imitation of their bad friends habit, provingthemselves to be\r\nstylish, sorrow and joy, etc., and all of reasons above are\r\nbelieved to come from ignorance and lack of knowledge.
\r\n\r\nMost of us may understand the cigarette’s harmful\r\neffect; on each packet is the warning “Smoke cigarettes can cause\r\ncancer.†That white smoke of hallucinogenic effects contains numerous\r\ntoxic substancesexerting bad effects on their health and the other\r\npeoples around. Also, it is smoking that causes the incurable diseases.\r\nHowever, nowadays, more and more people are getting involved in this smoking addiction. Smoking\r\nis an action that causes bad karma, so being a Buddhist, we\r\nshould be determined to quit it. In order to abstain from\r\nsmoking, he or she must have steely determination, practice the\r\nway of changing bad habits properly and frequently. Besides, the\r\naddictive need true loveand help from their relatives and\r\nthe community. Don’t smoke cigarettes so that our living\r\nenvironment is much cleaner.
\r\n\r\nAfter the preaching, the mass officially\r\nstarted the repentance course and chanted Five Commandments of at-home\r\nBuddhists.
