Repentance ceremony on April 14th, Year of the Dragon

On May 21st, 2024 (April 14th, Year of the Dragon), good men and believing women inside and outside HCMC returned to Hoang Phap pagoda to attend a periodical penitential ritual.

Before the rite, Junior Thich Tam Dieu, Monks of the pagoda had a dharma to share with Buddhists.

Coming to the Saha world, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas all have different vows. Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara has 32-appearance bodies, depending on the circumstances of living beings, He appears accordingly to save them. Likewise, on the path towards enlightenment, each practitioner has his or her own vows. Therefore, we should not rush to judge without thoroughly understanding someone's vows and practice to avoid having a misleading view.

Thanks to the story of Shakyamuni Buddha's previous life, the listeners better understood His vows. The Buddha was born in life and enlightened the truth, bringing equal rights to humanity and all living beings, eliminating class injustice; Giving up his royal position, beautiful wife and obedient children... Prince Siddhartha clearly shows sentient beings the pinnacle of worldly enjoyment is not equal to the path of enlightenment and deliverance.

The monk recalled the event of the Buddha's birth and the meaning of the Buddha bathing ritual. By the image of birth with seven steps on lotus flowers, He wants to spread to many people many messages: Misfortune or blessing, happiness or suffering, rebirth or falling hell .... depend on each person's own decision, there is no god, saint or supernatural being blessed, or brought disasters to us.

Thus, each person should transform our body and mind so that the Buddha in our heart can be born at every time and place.

After the Dharma talk, the mass entered the penitential ritual as usual.
