Before the ritual, Junior Thich Tam Thu had a session to share the Buddhadharma with the mass by the topic "Smile giving means sowing good conditions forever".
Life is a mirror that reflects our image in the most vivid way. If we smile at people, the response will be a smile and vice versa. So, even though we have everything but lack a happy life, what we have only adds a burden. Since, the Venerable analyzed an ideal life, a life full of joy and laughter.
He talked about the benefits and meaning of laughter to people. A person can have a natural, pure smile that comes from their joyful mind that arises from a good mind, and live a life for the benefit of others. Therefore, let's live with joy in our hearts, be happy with people's good deeds, give love to many people so that the joy is multiplied. Although life has many ups and downs, difficulties, and falls, we hope we can choose for ourselves a meaningful life with "eyes that can always smile, smile that can always talk, words that always know to love".
After the Dharma talk, the mass started the penitential ceremony as usual.
