Repentance ceremony on Dec. 14th, Year of the Cat

On Jan. 24th, 2024 (Dec. 14th, LC), good men and believing women inside and outside HCMC returned to Hoang Phap pagoda to attend the periodical penitential ceremony.

Before the rite, Junior Thich Tam Khai, monks of the pagoda gave a dharma talk named Seven-mind repentance.

1. Arising  a shameful mind.

2. Arising an evil fearing mind.

3. Growing a mind of boredom and letting go.

4. Thriving the bodhi mind.

5. Developing an equal mind of enmity and friendship.

6. The mind always remembers to repay the Buddha's grace.

7. Contemplate the nature of sin as emptiness.

Then, he taught the method of repentance to resolve enmity and preserve a long life.

After the Dharma talk, the mass entered the penitential ritual as usual.
