Repentance ceremony on Feb. 30th, Year of the Cat

On March 21st, 2023 (Feb. 30th, Year of the Cat), good men and believing women inside and outside HCMC returned to Hoang Phap pagoda to attend the periodical penitential ceremony.

Before the rite, Junior Thich Tam Thach, monks of the pagoda gave a dharma talk named Appreciating the happiness at present…

Happiness is a person's emotional state when its need is satisfied.

In Buddhist practice, whether a monk or a layperson, happiness is not something noble, those are:

- We also have parents, masters, and relatives.

- Person who is a filial son, directing grandparents, parents and families to learn Buddhadharma, and do good deeds.

- Saving the lives of sentient beings.

- Having a living life, being a human with enough senses, having health, knowing Buddhadharma, and practicing the Buddha's teachings.

- Attaining and existing two happiness in this life and the next life are practicing Dharma without distraction.

By his sharing session, the Junior reminded listeners to appreciate what they have. True happiness is the things that are so simple and exist around, don't wait until it's gone to regret it. Truely, time and happiness have passed, it is very difficult to find it again. At once remaining alive in life, we can still be beside our parents, teachers, and loved ones, so cherish every minute, second and feel the happiness is present.

After the Dharma talk, the mass entered the penitential ritual as usual.
