Repentance ceremony on Oct. 30th, Year of the Tiger

On Nov. 23rd, 2022 (Oct. 30th, Year of the Tiger), men and women Buddhists inside and outside HCMC returned to Hoang Phap pagoda to attend the periodical penitential ceremony.

Before the rite, Junior Thich Tam Duyen gave a dharma talk named Eternal spring.

During the Dharma, he pointed out the reason one experienced suffering is due to two causes of emotional suffering and natural suffering. Feeling suffering is due to psychological fear and anxiety; natural suffering is the impact of external circumstances, impermanence, change, uncertainties in life, ... but the core of suffering is still dominated by greed, anger, and delusion.

Over an hour of sharing, he helped the mass understand the nature of life. From there, he showed the method of transforming, controlling and protecting the mind. He encouraged the mass to keep their faith in the Three Jewels and practice the Buddha's teachings. Practitioners must always be aware, master the mind of greed, hatred, and delusion, diligently cultivate precepts, concentration and wisdom, not to waste human life, skillfully rely on true joy to have joy and happiness in life at present and future lives.

After the dharma talk, the mass started the penitential ceremony as usual.
