Repentant Ceremony at Dong Cao pagoda

On Dec. 22nd, 2022 (Nov. 29th, LC) good men and believing women everywhere returned to Dong Cao Pagoda (belonging to Hoang Phap pagoda’s custom) to attend the periodic penance rite.

After reading the rules of activities of the ashram, the Abbot instructed the mass the monthly chanting rite of illuminating Three karma, as well as review Three Refuge - Five Precepts. Then, he shared a few words about dharma. Next, he told Buddhist stories to help the practitioners cultivate bodhicitta more firmly. To be worthy of being a Buddhist, the monk encouraged the mass to practice good deeds to offer to The Bless One on the occasion of Buddha's Enlightenment. At the end of the ceremony, it was a moment of reverence, the mass sincerely offered 12 prayers of reciting the Buddha's name, and dedicated it.
