Repentant Ceremony May 30th, 2019

On July 2nd, 2019 (May 30th, LC), devout Buddhist in HCMC came to Hoang Phap for attending the monthly repentant ceremony.

Before the ceremony, one-hour Dharma Sharing was sent to all the participants. This time, Ven. Thich Tam Phung had a talk about Difficulty.

In Dhammapada Sutta, verse 182,  the Buddha had taught:

"It’s difficult to be born as human
It’s difficult to live happily
It’s difficult to hear Dharma
It’s difficult for seeing the Buddha coming".

Having enlightened and realized the Truth, the Buddha came to know that sentient beings spent uncountable lives in the circle of birth and death, but there is only a few to be born as a human. Being human we need to keep well the five precepts, the righteousness way of life, and improve self-practice in the right thought and right view. We have suffered because of unwholesome thoughts arising in mind and produce so many greeds, hatred, and ignorance. Then, just doing what is good for self and others, we will be happy. We today are happy people when being born as a human, can hear Dharma and can practice, don’t waste of it. Keep respecting this chance and put more effort into practice for later happiness. Ven. Tam Phung has analyzed some needs factors for our practice in which everyone can be happy if keep following.
