Repentant Ceremony Sep. 9th, 2018

In the evening of Sep. 9th, 2018, devout Buddhist in HCMC gathered at Hoang Phap for taking the monthly repentant ceremony. This time, Dharma sharing was done by Ven. Thich Tam Quyen on the title of “There’s still time”.

Taking birth as a human being is not easy according to the Buddha’s words. One has to keep well the five precepts and leads a moral life for taking birth in the human realm in the next existence. Therefore being human we need to play well our role to others, no matter who they are, our relatives, our family or someone we meet in the floating of life. Bhikkhu wants to remind people about the way to treat, to deal with others. It’s not easy to be here, in the same place, same environment, same family…. So take good care of our family first to make them happy. From this one can spread the caring to neighbors, coworkers…People here all know about the Buddha’s teaching, so we can also share and guide another family member to the Buddhist way.

There’s still time for everyone to do this. If we haven’t done yet, do it now; if we still keep quiet much the bad manners, drop it now; if we pay no attention to parent and our relatives, pay now; if having so much desires, giving up gradually; if we’re so stingy, doing the giving practice now and we can feel the happiness of seeing others be happy… It's never late for anyone to begin correcting themselves for the benefit of self and others. This is what Ven. Preacher wants to address. Building a path of liberation from now and here.

No matter how long we live, make it meaningful and useful to others, this is called “meaning of life”.
