Ritual of visiting and offering homage to Most Venerable Thich Giac Phuc’s Body

In 1958, Ven. Thich Giac Phuc took the refuge with Most Giac Nhien at Ngoc An nunnery, Di An. He received novice precepts at Ngoc Chanh Vihara, Gia Dinh in 1959. By 1963, he was ordained as a monk at Ngoc Giang Vihara, An Giang (Long Xuyen). After being ordained as a monk, he followed his master to travel throughout the Southern and Central provinces. In particular, he and his dignitaries in Congregation IV opened and built many nunnery.
In 1975, the Congregation invited him to charge the Abbot to Minh Dang Quang's Monastery. In 1978, he was appointed Head of Congregation IV until now. After the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) was established, he assumed the position of Deputy Head of the General Assembly for the term 2002-2007; Since 2007 until now, he has been honored as the member of the demonstrating council of VBS.
Late Most Ven Thich Giac Phuc was member of the demonstrating council of VBS; Demonstrating Dignitary of the Buddhist Sect; Head Congregation IV; Member of the Director Board of the VBS; Deputy Head of the Central Affair Committee of VBS; Abbot of Minh Dang Quang Monastery, District 2, HCM City. Because of old age, the Venerable Master followed the impermanent rule and gave up the physical body at 07:00 on Dec. 12th, 2020 (Oct. 28th, the Rat year), at 85 years old with 57 years of religious age at Minh Dang Quang Monastery, No 505, Hanoi Highway, An Phu Ward, Dist. 2, HCMC.
The entry ceremony in the funeral was held at 19:00 on Dec. 12th, 2020 (Oct. 28th, the Rat year). The funeral rite will be held at Minh Dang Quang Monastery, An Phu Ward, Dist. 2, HCMC. The rite of commemorating would be at 06:00, on Dec. 15th, 2020 (Nov. 02nd, the rat year), and then move His coffin to Phuc An Vien crematorium in District 9, HCMC.
