Shimmering candles at Co Tan Pagoda - Hai Duong

Monks and Buddhists of Co Tan Pagoda (Co Tan Village, An Phu Commune, Kinh Mon District, Hai Duong Province) March 19-20th, 2019 (lunar 14-15th, February, the year of Pig), solemnly held a traditional festival to celebrate the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara’s Birthday.
It is known that Co Tan Pagoda is located in the poor countryside, although life is difficult, but the Buddhist is here having the mind toward ethics. In 2018, the government and the villagers agreed to invite Junior Venerable Thich Tam Hoa - the abbot of Hoa Phuc pagoda (Quoc Oai - Hanoi) come to charge as the abbot who guide, take care, contribute and build of the spiritual life of people to have a rich and beautiful, civilized homeland.
On March 19th, 2019, despite the rain falling outside, Junior Venerable Thich Tam Hoa and the leaders of local authorities, people and Buddhists came to burn incense and visit the graves of fallen heroes at An Phu commune cemetery. The image of the delegation in a falling rain came and lit incense which expresses the grateful spirit and gratitude of Vietnamese young for predecessors.
Senior Venerable Thich Giac Nguyen - Head of the Legal Department of Tien Giang Province; Chief of the Board of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Go Cong town; Abbot Hue Quang Pagoda came to share with Buddhists the Dharma talk of "Wish words of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara" which helps the people understand better the meaning of the festival, preserve and promote good values in traditional festivals, connect and bring Buddha Dharma into life, orienting Buddhism having a meaningful festival season as the Buddha taught, as the wish mind of supporting beings of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara.
The lantern and flower festival night was an offering to Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara to peaceful country and the people’s happiness is the special program during the Festival, accompanying with the participation of Junior Venerable Thich Tam Hoa, Nun Ven. Thich Dam Thao, as the Abbot of Tuong Van Pagoda (An Sinh - Hai Duong), Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Duc - Chairman of An Phu commune, Mr. Le Van Tuu - Head of Co Tan village and government representatives, teachers, pupils, students and people in and out of the locality
In addition, the program also had the participation of singer Chanh Hoang Phap, Buddhist journalist Nguyen Thanh Trung, MC Ngoc Diep, Tu Thanh's young singer, dance group Hon Viet, dance artist Trinh Nhi, singer Thu Trang, singer Ha Linh, singer Xuan Khiem, singer Ngoc Khanh, singer Phan Huy.
