Supporting cancer patients to attend One-Day Practice

On Nov. 20th, 2023 at Hoang Phap pagoda, monks and Oncology Club assisted 72 patients of Cancer Hospital gathering at the pagoda to attend One-Day Practice.

After having breakfast, Buddhists came to the lecture hall of area C to begin reciting the Buddha's name, walking meditation and chanting precepts.

After the ritual, Most Thich Nhat Hy, Head of Central (DPB) Dharma Propagation Board, Deputy of Director Board and Head of DPB of HCMC's VBS, Abbot of Phat Quang pagoda, Vinh Long province came to the lecture hall to share a dharma talk. 

After reciting the Buddha name in the afternoon, Buddhists practiced sitting meditation quietly. The day of practice ended in the joy of participants.

Before patients leaving the pagoda, Junior Thich Tam Hue gave gift portions to 72 patients and the blind. Each person receives 1 envelope worth 70,000 VND and other gifts donated by some Buddhist. 

The total amount to patients and Hoc Mon the blind is 5,000,000 VND gladly supported by Ms. Tuyet Ngoc ‘s Group in Hoc Mon, and a Buddhist.

He praised the patients' difficult overcoming spirit, although the body was sick but the mind was not, and returned to the pagoda to cultivate. He advised them to take refuge in Three Jewels, diligently recite Buddha's name, study and practice Buddha's teachings, and will have a peaceful and happy life.
