Supporting cancer patients to attend One-Day Practice

On Jan. 14th, 2024 Charity Board and Oncology Club at Hoang Phap pagoda assisted 80 patients of Cancer Hospital and blind person Hoc Mon gathering at the pagoda to attend One-Day Practice.

After having breakfast, Buddhists came to the lecture hall of area C to begin reciting the Buddha's name, walking meditation and chanting precepts.

After the ritual, all practitioners listened to a short sharing session by Most Master Thich Chan Tinh in the end of the year; Then, Junior Thich Tam Truong, Abbot of the pagoda had a dharma talk.

Finish reciting the Buddha name in the afternoon, Buddhists practiced sitting meditation quietly. The day of cultivation ended in the joy of participants.

Junior Thich Tam Hue gave gift portions to 80 patients and the blind. Each person receives 1 envelope worth 100,000 VND and other gifts donated by some Buddhist before patients leaving the pagoda.

The total amount to patients and Hoc Mon the blind is 8,000,000 VND gladly supported by Ms. Tuyet Ngoc, Tuyet Ngoc's group of friends in Hoc Mon, Tinh Quang, and Lien Nghia 's family.

The monk praised the patients' difficult overcoming spirit, although the body was sick but the mind was not, and returned to the pagoda to cultivate. He advised them to take refuge in Three Jewels, diligently recite Buddha's name, study and practice Buddha's teachings, and will have a peaceful and happy life.
