Supporting cancer patients to attend One-Day Practice

On March 10th, 2024 Charity Board and Oncology Club at Hoang Phap pagoda assisted 70 patients of Cancer Hospital and Hoc Mon blind people gathering at the pagoda to attend One-Day Practice.

After having breakfast, Buddhists came to the lecture hall of area C to begin reciting the Buddha's name, walking meditation and chanting Buddhists basic precepts.

 Next, all practitioners listened to a sharing session by Senior Thich Tri Hue, standing member of Central Propagation Board, Abbot of Phap Tang pagoda in Binh Chanh, HCMC came to the ashram to answer Buddhists' questions.

Finishing reciting the Buddha name in the afternoon, Buddhists practiced sitting meditation quietly. The day of cultivation ended in the joy of participants.

On behalf of the Charity Board, Junior Thich Tam Hue gave gift portions to 70 patients and the blind with the amount of 3,500,000 given by Buddhist Nhuan Thien in Hoc Mon. Each person receives 1 envelope worth 110,000 VND and other gifts donated by Ms Lien Nghia group; 70 Buddhist recitation bead strings were donated by Ms. Ut Sanh and a group of Buddhists in Binh Duong before patients leaving the pagoda.  This total amount to patients and Hoc Mon the blind is 11,200,000 VND.

The monk praised the patients' difficult overcoming spirit, although the body was sick but the mind was not. He advised them to take refuge in Three Jewels, diligently recite Buddha's name, study and practice Buddha's teachings, then will have a peaceful and happy life.
