Supporting cancer patients to attend One-Day Practice

On May 12th, 2024 Charity Board and Oncology Club at Hoang Phap pagoda assisted 72 patients of Cancer Hospital and Hoc Mon Blind people gathering at the pagoda to attend One-Day Practice.

After having breakfast, Buddhists came to the lecture hall of area C to begin reciting the Buddha's name, walking meditation and chanting Buddhists basic precepts.

Next, all practitioners listened to a Dharma talk about the Buddha Birthday’s meaning and reviewing the Buddha life, preached by Most Master Thich Chan Tinh of Hoang Phap Pagoda to Buddhists.

Next, Senior Thich Quang Thien - Head of the Buddhist Legal Department of District 12 - Lecturer of Buddhist Schools inside and outside the City, Abbot of Tinh Quang Pagoda in HCMC, came to the lecture hall to preach a Dharma talk on the Buddha Birthday. 

Finishing reciting the Buddha name in the afternoon, Buddhists practiced sitting meditation quietly. The day of cultivation ended in the joy of participants.

On behalf of the Charity Board, Junior Thich Tam Hue gave gift portions including envelope and milk to 72 patients and the blind.

The amount of 23,400,000 given by the donors, such as Oncology Club (9,200,000 VND); Ms. Lien Nghia's group in Go Vap (5,200,000 VND); Tuyet Ngoc (4,000,000 VND); Ms. Kim Anh (5,000,000 VND).

The monk praised the patients' difficult overcoming spirit, although the body was sick but the mind was not. He advised them to take refuge in Three Jewels, diligently recite Buddha's name, study and practice Buddha's teachings, then will have a peaceful and happy life.
