Teenager Retreat - Huong Phap Branch, Cu Chi

In the mind of dharma propaganda, as well as wishing to support monks and nuns having a facility to organize retreats, on Oct. 30th, 2022, Huong Phap Branch belonging to Hoang Phap pagoda in Cu Chi district, organized a Teenager Retreat from 10 - 16 years old at Hoang Phap pagoda, guided by Junior Thich Tam Do for nearly 200 young learners to attend the retreat.

  After registering in the morning, the monks guided young participants to the lecture hall to participate in activities; Finishing the chanting the Dhammapada sutra, young learners have three minutes to meditate before beginning a Dharma talk with topic named "School youth", shared by Junior Thich Trung Hanh, Abbot of the Pho Hien ashram (Cu Chi, HCMC).

 

In the Dharma talk, he explained more clearly about the meaning of effort in studying, what learners need to do when facing difficult situations, and how to behave better towards grandparents, parents, teachers, friends and people around.

 

After the talk, there was a cultural exchange program with Rapper Tien Nho. In particular in this retreat, young practitioners were charged with energy in the program "Energetic to live" shared by Lan Anh Club (HCMC Association of the Blind). Although born into physically difficult and unhappy circumstances, with their energy and will to rise, the male and female, as well as the young have also fulfilled their dreams and ideals. With special talents, the club has brought joy and fueled energy to young people with many special performances.

 

In the afternoon, young learners have fun and enjoy sports activities, with the participation of more than 30 children's football teams at stadium 317 (Hoc Mon).  Before leaving, all learners received a gift from the monks.
