Ten-temple pilgrimage in Lunar New Year 2026 of Dong Cao Pagoda - Thanh Hoa

A beautiful spiritual tradition of the Vietnamese in general and Buddhists in particular is visiting temples at the year's beginning. This is a virtuous deed that helps each person cultivate good intentions and aspire towards a beautiful spiritual life, ensuring a new year filled with peace, good fortune, and fulfillment.

On February 22, 2026, Junior Thich Tam Hung, Abbot of Dong Cao Pagoda (belonging to the Hoang Phap Temple Sect), organized the annual pilgrimage for Buddhists to sacred temples, becoming a spiritual destination for Buddhists. The Abbot led the pilgrimage group to visit 10 ancient temples, including:

 Dong Cao Pagoda – Nga Son, Thanh Hoa; Kim Thanh Pagoda – Ho Vuong, Thanh Hoa; Dong Dac Temple – Ninh Binh; Khai Nguyen Pagoda – Hanoi; Tung Lam Hoa Phuc Pagoda – Hanoi; Lien Tri Pagoda – Hanoi; Bai Ngoai Pagoda – Hanoi; Khanh Quang Ancestral Temple – Quang Trung, Thanh Hoa; Hoa Phuc Pagoda – Thanh Hoa; Kim Lien Pagoda – Nga Son, Thanh Hoa. 

In the spring pilgrimage, devout Buddhists paid homage to the Three Jewels, the abbots, and received blessings for the lunar new year in the joyful atmosphere of the Spring of the Horse Year. 

The Buddhist pilgrimage to ten temples was successfully completed in the joy of the mass.
