The 15th Lotus seed Sowing Retreat at Dong Cao Pagoda, Thanh Hoa

Dong Cao pagoda (belonging to Hoang Phap pagoda sect) in Thanh Hoa province organized the 15th Lotus seed Sowing Retreat for all children from 6-13 years old everywhere to attend on April 14th, 2024.

After the registration in the morning, Ms Lien Thanh and members in the Youth Club directed kids kowtowing to the Buddha, divided them into groups, and studied demeanor when coming to the temple in the main hall.

Next, the children returned to the living room to ask about the Abbot’s health and receive gifts from him. Then, the monks led little learners to release creatures which express their love to sentient beings.

 All children learned dance and living skills taught by Ms. Pham Thi Ha, Ha Thanh's Aptitude Center Director for all learners.

After taking a nap, children started the time to sit quietly, read the poem of Gratitude, prostrating to Three Jewels and Four Grace that each of us carries in life, guided by the pagoda ’s Junior Abbot in the afternoon.

Then, children participated in playing folk games to help them learn to live independently and make friends together.

All of the kids were guided in walking meditation by monks and received dharma books before they left the temple.
