After finishing with registering in the morning, the monks guided young learners to gather at the lecture hall to participate in the activities and listen to a short sharing session from Senior Ven. Thich Chan Tinh, Abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda, Head of the Organizers. The Master taught to learn the verses of "Gratitude" by heart.
With the story of a little novice saving ants, the Master reminded the children killing creatures will take many diseases, premature death, and vice versa if creature liberation will take peace, less illness, and longevity. Next, the Venerable instructed the learners to memorize the new song composed by him. The message of the song conveyed to the children that the pagoda is not only a healthy environment for children to have fun, but also a place where children learn good things and avoid evils.
Next, the program presented 80 gifts to children in difficult families. The Venerable Master, on behalf of the Organizers, personally gave it to the children - This is a gift that partly supports their spirit of learning.
In the afternoon, little Kids had moments of quiet sitting, and was instructed by the monks to read the verses "Gratitude".
After that, there was a program of teaching children to protect themselves by Ms. Phuong Thanh from Tomato extracurricular School. From the program, they learn how to become the "hero" of their lives, protecting themselves. The program helps children to better understand their safe and unsafe actions against everyday danger, then learn and know to protect their bodies from outside harm, and identify a trusted person, and where children can ask for help when something goes wrong.
Before leaving, the children received gifts from the Monks, the book Adventure for Treasures, Candies and Balloons.
