The 2nd Day of Summer Retreat for Children in Dong Cao pagoda

After being instructed by the Monk to read the poem Gratitude and sitting meditation, the little learners did physical exercises under the guidance of the members in the Club on the second day of the retreat of July 21st, 2020.
At 8:00 am, the participants welcomed Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hung, Abbot of Dong Cao Pagoda, Head of the Organizers came to the lecture hall to meet the learners. After that, there was a program on Skills of Fire Prevention and Fighting shared by Ms. Pham Thi Huyen. To the program, the children have the most basic understanding about preventing unexpected accidents in life.
On this occasion, the children were glad to offer almsgiving to the monks in the retreat. The rite was witnessed by Junior Ven. Thich Tam Kinh, Abbot of Tay Khanh Pagoda, Thai Binh, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Due, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Dieu. On behalf of the Venerables, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Kinh had a few words of praise and encouragement to the children and Buddhists.
As usual, the pagoda donated more than 350 portion vegetarian meals at the General Hospital, Nga Son.
In the afternoon, the monks celebrated the renunciation ceremony for a good son to sow Bodhi seeds. The ceremony was witnessed by Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hieu, Abbot of Can Mon pagoda, Nghe An province and many other Delegates.
The representative of the good son had a speech to offer to the Sangha. After that, the organizers invited the Venerable monks to offer incense to the Buddha, pay-homage to the Three Jewels and repent three karma before performing the ordination ritual. Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hung praised the spirit of cultivation to the young monk, as well as their parents who created conditions for the children to attend at the retreat. The Monks donated the gifts to the leaving-home son.
