The 2nd Day of Temporary Ordination for Children

After breakfast, practitioners went to the lecture hall to listen to the short lecture from Senior Ven. Thich Chan Tinh, Abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda. He instructed the children to memorize the ten lessons in the "Children's Lesson" on July 27th, 2020.

These are short poems to educate the children about a neat lifestyle, the rules of the monastic place and the behaviors in daily life: eating, sleeping, how to behave toward people, as well as gratitude to all beings. This is not only lessons for children but also for adults, who should observe again their style and behavior in life. The little learners have repeated the lesson several times to carve it into their minds.

That afternoon, the practitioners will have a doctrinal session according to the schedule to understand the monastic life they are cultivating, the Master they are following and the teachings from Him.

Junior Ven.Thich Tam Tri had a short talk with little learners on the topic Living at the monastic. Before entering the lesson, they had moments of quiet sitting. The Monk explained about the ordination life with such requirements: Respect, courtesy, modesty to the mass; everything we do must be clean and tidy; seriously in the time of study; sharing what we have with others; having peace and moderately in words, loving brothers ... This is the practical lesson to train the personality of a cultivator.

In the evening, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Trieu shared a short lecture on the subject of the Buddha History.

By the lecture, the Monk helped all children to learn about the events in the life of Shakyamuni Buddha, with the name, clan, birthdate, prophecy, and four gate citadel ... To the stories of the Buddha life, the Monk highlighted the spirit of compassion and wisdom in Buddhism.
