The 3rd day of Summer Retreat 2025 “The Good Mind Youth”
Update: 12/07/2025
The morning of July 12th, 2025 is the third day of the retreat. In the morning, students welcome the new day with mindful steps with monks.
After having the breakfast at 8: 00 a.m., Senior Thich Tri Hue, Standing Member of the Central Dharma Propagation Board, Abbot of Phap Tang pagoda, HCMC preached a Dharma talk named “Great blessings from gratitude” to all attendees in the Wheel Dharma Building's Main Hall.
The monk kindly taught about the aspects of gratitude, helping listeners understand and practice to cultivate gratitude more deeply in life.
The appreciation and recognition of the help and support of people or nature is gratitude. It is a good virtue and also a manifestation of wisdom. Wisdom is when we realize all our achievements are thanks to many factors and causes as in the doctrine of dependent origination that the Buddha preached. A grateful person will always remember the favors he has received, whether they are great or simple. A shining example of gratitude and repayment, the Buddha not only remembered His parents, teachers, and country, but also repaid them by spreading the Dharma and guiding sentient beings to escape suffering. The most practical and meaningful way to repay gratitude is to enlighten people by spirituality. That is, bringing the light of Buddhism helps illuminate itself and others, guide people to know how to do good, practice, and create blessings; help them realize the path of practice to transform suffering to live peacefully and happily. From that sincere gratitude, great blessings are planted and spread in the present and the future.
Last, the monk took the time to answer questions surrounding the topic of the sermon.
